The corporation was shaped in 1837 when William Procter, a British candlemaker, and James Gamble, an Irish soapmaker, merged their companies in Cincinnati. The Main ingredient for both equally products was animal Extra fat, which was readily available within the hog-butchering centre of Cincinnati.
